为拓宽教师国际化视野，增加教师对西方思维系统的了解，现邀请
爱尔兰都柏林大学Cathal MacSwiney Brugha教授举办系列讲座，具体信息如下：
Biography（简介）
Cathal MacSwiney Brugha is an Emeritus Professor of Decision Analytics, University College Dublin, Ireland. He is the President of Analytics Society of Ireland, Advisor to Irish Government Prime Ministers, and Honorary/Visiting Professor in China, India, U.K., and Tanzania. Specially, he is a Collaborator with UCD Confucius Institute for Ireland on Ireland-China Inter-Cultural Relationships. He has organised the visit of Chinese delegations to Ireland, including one led by Mr. Daohong Zhang, Vice-Governor of the People’s Government of Shaanxi Province, and another by Prof. Ms Xiaojing Zheng, President of Xidian University.

Each lecture will lead into the next lecture. At the start of each lecture there will be a review of the previous one. After each lecture people can suggest questions for the final forum lecture.
1. 题目：Ireland and Irish History （爱尔兰与爱尔兰历史）

内容提要：Cathal MacSwiney Brugha will give an introduction to Ireland and Irish history.
1) Present the poem about Terence MacSwiney by Guo Moro.
2) Discuss how both his grandfathers and others of their generation secured Irish freedom 100 years ago next year. Both families’ sacrifice was for the community. No personal gain.
3) Outline why the Irish people wished to end British rule after 700 years.
4) Show how his paternal grandfather Cathal Brugha became Ireland’s first Prime Minister, and led the military side of the War of Independence
5) Explain how his maternal grandfather Terence MacSwiney internationalised the fight and turned it into a battle about who had authority to govern in Ireland
6) Show their influence on Brugha’s research and work with Irish Government leaders, and for international relationships.
2. 题目：Western Systems of Thinking（西方思维系统）

1) Describe the hierarchy of levels: physical, political, economic, etc.
2) Discuss how these correspond to stages of a project: survey, study, define, etc..
3) Show these have their own kinds of thinking: intuiting, recognizing, believing, etc.
4) Explain how they combine into different kinds of extroverted approaches.
5) Then show how they can explain different extroverted approaches in business by Irish, Chinese and American business people, in inter-cultural business.
6) Explain how they combine into different kinds of introverted approaches, and what this can mean for forming inter-cultural business relationships between China and Ireland.
3. 题目：Western View of Eastern Systems of Thinking（西方对东方思维系统的看法）

内容提要：Cathal MacSwiney Brugha will describe a western view of Eastern objective thinking structures
1) Describe three yin/yang aspects.
2) Ask participants to choose their favourite colours, and use the system to interpret their answers.
3) Discuss how these correspond to stages of adjusting: pounce, procedure, etc.
4) Show these can explain concepts such as Guanxi and Mianzi, etc.
5) Explain how these are meaningful in Irish business culture, and not in American / British culture
6) Then show how they correspond to traditional Chinese theories: Ba Gua, Confucius.
